Dr. Jason Lee McKinney
Assistant Professor of Music Business, Author, and Award-Winning Recording Artist
Dr. Jason Lee McKinney is an Assistant Professor of Music Business at Belmont University, a published author, and the frontman of the critically acclaimed Jason Lee McKinney Band. As a recording artist, he has earned multiple Josie Music Awards, several Independent Country Music Association Awards, and placement on the Billboard charts, recognizing over two decades of success as a touring musician, songwriter, and music industry entrepreneur.
At Belmont, McKinney developed and teaches the innovative course AI in the Entertainment Industry, equipping students to navigate the legal, ethical, artistic, and commercial implications of emerging technologies. He is the author of several philosophy books, including What is a Person in the Age of AI?, Deconstructing a Disciple’s Doubt, and Devotions for Deconstructors, Disciples, and Doubters, which explore questions of personhood, meaning, and the role of technology in shaping identity.
Combining academic rigor, artistic credibility, and industry insight, McKinney brings a multidimensional perspective to conversations about the future of the music business.

Eric Dahl is a Nashville based TV, radio and podcast show host, writer for multiple magazines and a published author with over 40 years in media. His hobbies include playing and collecting guitars singing, writing songs. and winemaking. Dahl has played guitar since he was 5 years old thanks to his father, Jerry Dahl, who was a bassist. Dahl holds a BA in Mass Communications and a Music Minor in Jazz and classical guitar from Southeast Missouri State University and briefly studied at Belmont University. Eric came to national attention in 2009 when he purchased and returned B.B. King’s previously stolen 80th Birthday Lucille from a Las Vegas pawnshop. King then permitted him to write a book about his Lucille guitars titled “B.B. King’s Lucille and the Loves Before Her” which he released in 2013. A 2nd Edition followed in October of 2020 which included six new chapters and a forward by the late Southern Rock/Country Music Legend and Grand Ole Opry member Charlie Daniels.
He created the “Rock & Review with Eric Dahl” on FOX 17 News in January of 2012. Over 1,100 music-based segments have aired over the 13 seasons of the show. Dahl focuses on musical artists, bands, music book authors, and music documentarians of all genres of music. The “Rock & Review with Eric Dahl” launched into syndication in January of 2025 and is now viewed in 25 markets across the US reaching over 19 million viewers weekly.
To date Dahl has over 10,000 published magazine articles covering music gear, artists, music books and vintage instruments for publications including: Maverick Country (UK), Guitar Tech + Recording, Collectible Guitar, American Songwriter, Guitar World, Music Radar, and Christian Musician. He currently contributes regularly to Worship Musician and Guitar.com publications.
